Who we are
SunGold Botanicals LLC is the brainchild of two long-time Oregonians- Josh Gulliver, compost wizard, cannabis lover, and innovative farmer, and Isaac Daniel, fermentation and value-added goods specialist. With the onset of the Hemp Pilot program in Oregon, Josh started J & J Organics with veggie farmer extraordinaire John Eveland, growing USDA certified organic hemp right in the fertile soils beside the Mary’s River in Philomath. As production grew it became apparent that there was a major lack of infrastructure to process organically grown hemp into certified organic full spectrum hemp oil and hemp products. This gave birth to SunGold Botanicals, one of the first fully USDA certified hemp processing facilities on the west coast. SunGold Botanicals has since grown into a central place in the organic hemp community of Oregon, using home-grown expertise to create custom extracts and build private label product lines. SunGold has also championed third-party certifications to help with transparency and integrity, including becoming one of the first Demeter-certified Biodynamic hemp processing facilities in the United States.
Our Facility
Located a mere 4 miles from the fields of hemp, our 8000 square foot facility enables us to produce truly local products and contribute deeply to our local economy. Our facility is dedicated organic and all of our products are certified USDA Organic through OneCert, a premier international organic certifier. Integrity is our number one ethic in all we do and we have received numerous additional certifications to help guide us. (See our Certifications page for more info.) Within our facility we have dedicated space for hang drying and batch drying hemp, sorting and storing hemp flower and biomass, extracting hemp into oil using certified organic cane ethanol, and creating a large variety of consumer-level products like salves, tinctures, and lotions. We provide a number of services for other farms and businesses including contract drying, storage and processing as well as custom product formulation and manufacture.
Our Products
We are proud to use our self-grown hemp and in-house extracted full spectrum hemp oil in all of our products. The SunGold Botanical product line includes tinctures, massage oils, lotions, CBD-infused coconut oil, lip balm, essential oil, and salves. Our interests go beyond hemp too. We also make herbal oils using home-grown certified organic herbs like arnica, calendula, plantain, and comfrey and herbal extracts like echinacea, elecampane, blessed thistle, ginger, and valerian. All of our hemp products are third-party tested for potency and contaminants in accordance with Oregon Department of Agriculture laws. We also have taken it upon ourselves to have additional testing completed for Glyphosate, aka Round Up.
